The "NILESSENCES" brand contributes to crocodile conservation and protection projects by financially and morally supporting a non-governmental organization called CSG (Crocodile Specialist Group), which was founded in 1971 and coordinates a global network of biologists, wildlife managers, government officials, researchers, etc., heavily involved in the conservation of the 23 living species of alligators, crocodiles and caimans in the world.
CSG works closely with CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, and other international intergovernmental bodies to promote the conservation of crocodiles and to encourage legal trade that does not threaten the survival of these important reptiles.
The key to this success in protecting species and actively curbing illegal trade lies primarily in CSG's excellent collaboration with companies involved in the international trade in reptile skins and hides, especially reptile farmers and breeders.
OUR COMMITMENT TO CROCODILES
These were specifically designed to ensure the protection of wild species that are highly threatened by poaching. CSG has therefore issued the “Best Management Practices for crocodilian farming” (CSG-BMP) for these farms, which ensure the welfare of crocodiles with five essential aspects.
The South African farm with which "NILESSENCES" cooperates respects the rules (CSG-BMP) and is subject to strict breeding control by the Ministry of Agriculture and 3 random visits per month by the NSPCA (National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to verify the application of these best practices and thus the well-being of the crocodiles.
This farm is the only one in Africa that meets HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) quality standards for its crocodile meat.
We have the exclusivity to regenerate the fatty tissues of this meat, which we transform into oil in a laboratory respecting ISO standards using a natural physical process without adding any product.
It is in these fatty tissues that we find the maximum number of stem cells of these reptiles, which, thanks to their strongest immune system in the world, survived the dinosaurs and 200 million years of evolution.
"NILESSENCES" is the only one with full traceability and complete health control. For each batch of crocodile oil, this traceability and safety allows us to return to microbiological analyses verifying the quality of the associated meat.
